“Piece by Piece or Peace by Peace.”
As I sit in my space of peace, I am grateful for the peace I have within me that keeps me grounded and feeling whole and one within myself, the part of me I love most. It has been a difficult journey to maintain, and I am exhausted from always having to keep up my stamina to be able to keep up with the social standards of life and to maintain the standards put before me within my own life.
Although, I am on my way to recognizing I have my own standards, I have my own belief system, and I have my own dreams and goals in life. So much time has come to pass, and I realize and I am realizing this is not the life in which I dreamt of living, so it is my time, and it is time to make a change to live the life I have always dreamt of living and just go for it. What do I have to lose, besides everything or nothing, if I choose to stay and do nothing, I will no longer be living my own truth.
The time has come to change the dynamics of my life and to flip the script on its very ugly head and just go for it. I choose to follow my own light and to become the light maybe others need at this time, to allow them a different resource or avenue to pursue dreams unfulfilled and inspire others everywhere in the world, maybe to pick up all of their internal pieces as well, and begin putting themselves back together again, piece by piece and peace within peace.

In the arctic days where silence reigns, A flame within, untouched by winds. The sea’s expanse, a siren’s call, Yet in the shadows, faith stands tall.
Scars of time, the battles’ trace, Lessons learned, they take their place. Forgiveness blooms, a gentle art, Healing the mind, the soul, the heart.
Silence now, a friend so dear, In stillness, peace draws ever near. Strength within, a newfound prize, A journey’s worth in self-discoveries rise.
With compass in hand, the path unfolds, Resilience and humility, more precious than gold. The power of belief, a guiding light, Illuminating the way, through day and night.

How do you tell someone, anyone,
What have you gone through in your life?
When everything about it goes against,
The morals and values you were taught.
When something bad happens,
Why do they leave such an imprint?
Leading us down paths,
None should ever have to tread.
I couldn’t understand my fears,
Why things made me nervous,
A fear of water, the dark,
Shadows that haunted my nights.
Now I understand the reasons,
Memories from my past,
Recollecting and questioning,
My existence and what it entailed.
My parents instilled in us,
Morals, values, respect, truth,
Honesty, love, empathy, compassion,
To be strong, to never give up.
Their hard work and dedication,
Raising us with love, even tough love,
Made me the strong individual I am today,
Blessed and thankful for their teachings.
